- 01Allumer® tries to source our different pearl collections from the origin of where each type of pearl naturally comes from. The pearls used in the "Classique" collection are freshwater pearls sourced directly from Zhuji, Zhejiang China, the pearl capital of China. Allumer® 's pearl sources are ethical and eco-conscious.
- 02No, none of the pieces from Allumer® are plated. Argentium® Silver is already a highly scratch-resistant, brighter metal than rhodium, which is what silver is plated in to cause it to become scratch-resistant and shiny. Plated jewelry has an expiration date, unlike Argentium® Silver, which doesn't need to be plated to be brighter: simply wipe with a Microfiber Cleaning Cloth. Further cleaning details under "Jewelry Tools" page and available for purchase on "Care" tab on "Shop All".
- 03The commonly-practiced silver mining process non-certified silver sources use strips the soil and disturbs the natural environment around it, all in search of silver; this is called "strip mining" and poses grave, detrimental consequences to the environment -- It is despicable to treat the Earth like that, and will never be tolerated by Allumer®. Argentium® Silver, however, is certifiably ethical and is derived from a recycled process where no-one is exploited and the environment doesn't suffer as a consequence. In short, the Argentium® Silver Allumer® uses is derived from recycled and responsible sources, meaning it's ethically sourced.

- 06Allumer® stands firm in it's commitment to preserve our planet and keep our carbon footprint minimized as much as possible. In order to keep our prices fair and competitive, a storefront is simply not a current venture, which ultimately would increase prices. Allumer® is exclusively online and in the future, custom work appointments can be scheduled via video consultations. (updates will be provided when available via our Contact Page).
- 07Yes! The Argentium® Silver used in pieces is kiln-hardened @ 300℃ for 1 hour; this brings out the scratch resistance of the Argentium® Silver. Then, it is followed up by an additional hardening @ 100℃ for 1 hour to bring out the tarnish resistance properties (as recommended by the Argentium® Guild).
